I am delighted to have just found out that not only have I been nominateed for the Vice-Chancellor’s Social Entrepreneur Award but have also been shortlisted. My aim is simple. It is to inspire and educate children globally about world climate change and to do so through my interactive expeditions and related school outreach work. My focus is primarily, but not exclusively, on the arctic regions, its Inuit people, its animals and landscape.

“Antony has, though, what might prove to be a trump card. He is too nice a guy to point it out, but one unique selling point is that he isn’t a Pen or a Ranulph. He’s an ordinary bloke from Plymouth who the rest of us, young and old, can identify with.”
“Antony’s ambition and drive is clear and I would have no hesitation recommending him. A friendly and personable individual, Antony engaged with our clients and quickly proved that he is a inspiring, professional and determined to succeed. We wish him all the very best with his new project and upcoming expeditions.” Jo Dalton, Director
It has been astonishing watching the arctic landscape change drastically in the last three years that I have been travelling there. This panorama was created by snow and ice, using mechanisms that have carved out stunning glaciated valleys and towering peaks over hundreds of thousands of years. Whilst these valleys have experienced many climatic changes in their history, it is the rate of change that is taking place here that has everyone worried, including the local Inuit people.
South Pole 2009 expedition is in jeopardy but instead of feeling down and saying “this is just not ever going to happen”, I simply look back over the past 12 months and can happily say that I have achieved 5 other expeditions and have developed a strong school following and backing. What can I achieve in the next 12 months?
We would like you to contribute to Antony’s fund and you’re in luck. We’ve got something a lot tastier than a raffle ticket. We’ve got The Ultimate Plum Pudding – one of the finest Christmas puddings you can buy. It has been endorsed by the BBC Good Food Magazine and by Chef magazine as being as good as the best home made and has won a food ‘Oscar’ – a gold award at the Great Taste Awards
