What a start to January, the UK has been coated in snow and ice which unfortunately has caused no end of problems to peoples day to day routines. The simple truth is we just do not get winters like it, especially here in the south west of England where the gulf stream keeps our winters relatively mild. There is a saying as well in Devon, that there is enough milage of country lanes in the county to circumnavigate the globe. We pride ourselves in Devon for being a rural county which unfortunately makes the job of keeping roads and lanes ice and snow free a very difficult one for local councils.
Saying that it has been a fantastic opportunity for getting out there and getting some training in for my north pole this February, especially on Dartmoor. I just wanted to share with you some footage and photographs I have collected since the beginning of January.
If you would like to ask me any questions about my training and build up to this next expedition please do drop me an email at explore@antonyjinman.com
A big thank you to Amanda Buckley for helping to arrange a camera from Plymouth Art College at short notice and for editing the footage. amanda.buckley@mac.com

“http://www.dartmoor-npa.gov.uk”:http://www.dartmoor-npa.gov.uk/ is the Dartmoor National Park Website which is packed full of information about visiting the area and its history. It is a beautiful place and one which is well worth a visit. My grandparents used to farm on the moor when I was younger and I used to love going off exploring the moorland and all its mystery and beauty.
