Very proud to become a Governor of the Drake Foundation

It is with great pride that I can say that I have recently been asked to become a governor of the “Drake Foundation”:http://www.drakefoundation.co.uk/index.php here in Plymouth. In this time of economic time doom and gloom, charities like the Drakes Foundation are crucial in helping people get back on their feet. It prides itself in being Plymouths people’s charity and that every penny goes to could causes and that for every £1 donated to the charity £1 is also matched by the government.

Together, working as a community we can make anything happen, we can all help make a difference in this world. Plymouth is my home city and I am proud to be able to help give something back to my community.

What is the “Drake Foundation”:http://www.drakefoundation.co.uk/index.php?

We are a local community charity, covering the Plymouth travel to work area. We support small voluntary and community groups by providing grants to help their cause.

We help companies and individuals who want to give something back to their community by supporting a wide range of local causes.

We aim to build a £5m endowment fund to provide a permanent source of support for local people. Donations we receive will be invested and the income generated will be used to provide lasting support to charity and community projects in and around the Plymouth city area.

Our Mission:
“To build and manage with care, sympathy and enthusiasm a charitable trust for the benefit of the people of the Plymouth City region.”

Purpose:

1. The local charity of charities, without overheads so every penny contributed goes to good causes.

2. Supporting community projects and charities in the Plymouth city region.

3. Helping individuals and businesses in making a lasting difference to their community.
Welcome to The Drake Foundation
